Part 2: Pinch, Dash, Smidgen – The Cutest, Vaguest Measurements Ever
Grandma’s official units of measurement (because measuring spoons are for cowards):
- Smidgen = 1/32 tsp (basically fairy dust)
- Pinch = 1/16 tsp (what you can grab between thumb & forefinger)
- Dash = ⅛ tsp (quick wrist flick for liquids)
- Tad = ¼ tsp (because it’s adorable)
Real talk: when a recipe says “dash of salt,” it means “season till your ancestors nod approvingly.”
Bonus Round: Terms That Sound Dirty But Aren’t 😏
- Sweat → Cook gently until translucent, no color. Vegetables only, please.
- Cream → Beat butter + sugar until fluffy. Yes, it’s as satisfying as it sounds.
